Man Riding a Snowmobile Crashes into a Snow-covered Pier and Dies
Eyewitness footage shows the driver of a snowmobile traveling at high speed across the ice of the Curonian Lagoon (a transnational lagoon shared between Lithuania and russian federation) before crashing into a snow-covered pier acting as a ramp, launching the snowmobile into the air before falling down and killing the driver. The victim has been identified as a 51-year-old resident of Neringa. Acquaintances of the driver suggest the setting sun may have blinded him, preventing him from seeing the pier until it was too late. Preliminary reports indicate the driver was sober at the time of the incident. The Klaipėda District Prosecutor's Office is conducting a pre-trial investigation. They are examining whether a safe speed was maintained and if technical or environmental factors contributed to the crash. Snowmobiles are typically registered as self-propelled vehicles, meaning they are legally allowed to operate on the ice of the lagoon, unlike standard motorized road vehicles. |

That initial impact looked instant death to me. Never knew what hit him. Got some decent air though. |

I vote for adding this as an official event to the 2030 Winter Olympics.

Re: Man Riding a Snowmobile Crashes into a Snow-covered Pier and Dies
I always wondered how people killed themselves on those fucking things. Now I know. Drunk, stupid or snow blind and didn't see the barrier? Even a moron wouldn't attempt that if they could see it? Or has snowmobiling degenerated like skateboarding to mind dead fuckers flying off every concrete stairway, obstacle and curb to fuck with non-combatants? |
