Carlos wasn't ready for that shit *at all.* I'm guessing from that write-up that he didn't play ball with the local strongmen/extortionists or that he probably had a disagreement with the wrong people one night while he was running his joint, and they took it seriously.

I mean, it's *possible* that he was doing dirt, but I'm just not feeling that with this one given that the authorities have no explanation for his murder. A lot of the reports we read on here will mention if the victim was in the game, so you'd figure the cops would have at least suspected the guy if that was the case.

I'd imagine that business owners are pretty common targets for the local thugs down in South America.
