Was the guard standing a proper watch???

Sitting in a chair relaxing, not even watching the right. Perhaps he was snoozing at the time..

The blocking of his view from the whole right side allowed his assailant to sneak up there, fire his shots, virtually walk out without being detected.. I'm sure the killer did his recon on the guards routine and waited for the right time in the shift...
