I mean... yeah I agree, it could be deliberate, but that hesitation could also be explained by someone finishing a text msg before getting on the road, and panicking when they felt they were going off the curb and noticed a car was coming before they noticed the person in the road. I just find it odd that if this was deliberate, why don't they brake or try to swerve from the other cars? And that's what makes my joke about reinforcing stereotypes, funny.... because either way, we can blame the driver or the car manufacturer. Admittedly, it's not as funny when I have to explain the joke though. If I'm going to run someone down like this, the last thing I want to do is immediately wreck my car, ruining my ability to getaway, and if necessary, "finish the job". Even though I know him, I don't have Jon Jones' athleticism to run away from the scene of a crash or his money to protect me from any and all legal repercussions, so I can't just take that sort of risk. |
