Apparently the shooter is the son of someone that he killed.

Nilton O, 32, was shot dead on Thursday afternoon (4), in the Bancários neighborhood, in João Pessoa. He was riding on the back of a motorcycle for app when he was surprised by two armed men, also on a motorcycle. Security cameras captured the entire criminal action, which shocked residents of the region.

The footage shows the suspects approaching and shooting at Nilton, who falls to the ground. One of the criminals then dismounts and fires several shots, fleeing shortly after. The ride-hailing driver, who was riding the motorcycle, was also grazed by a bullet. He managed to escape and was taken to the João Pessoa Trauma Hospital, where, according to the medical report, his condition is stable.

During the escape, the Military Police managed to arrest one of the suspects, identified as Lucas A. His accomplice, who also participated in the crime, managed to escape and remains at large. The weapon used was seized at the scene.

At the police station, Lucas stated that the crime was motivated by revenge. According to him, N. had participated in the murder of his accomplice's mother—a relative of his—a few years ago.

At the time, the victim of today's homicide had allegedly gone to his accomplice's residence intending to kill him, but, unable to find him, ended up getting involved in the execution of his mother, who was murdered with extreme cruelty.

According to Lucas, the fugitive accomplice was waiting for the opportunity to take revenge and, this Thursday, he decided to execute him.

The Civil Police reported that they are investigating the version presented by the arrested suspect. Investigations are seeking to confirm the reported motive and identify the involvement of others involved.

The case continues to be investigated at the Police Station, while teams carry out investigations to locate the second suspect.
