Man Livestreams After Killing His Mom & Gf in Dallas,Texas. Later Kills Himself

A 24-year-old man is believed to have killed his girlfriend and her mother, then fatally shot himself after a SWAT standoff at a far northeast Dallas apartment complex Sunday, police said.

Officers responded about 4:30 p.m. Sunday to a report of an active shooter at the apartment in the 9800 block of Summerwood Circle. As they approached the building, someone fired at them, shattering a window of a squad car.

The officers took cover and called for a SWAT team. Police did not discharge their weapons and no officers were injured, police said.

SWAT officers set up a perimeter and made several attempts to get the gunman to surrender, police said. They entered the apartment about 7 p.m. and found three people dead.

Police identified them Monday as T. M, 55, her daughter M. M, 26, and N. R. J, 24. M.M was in a relationship with J. and lived with him at the apartment, police said.

Police said the women died from gunshot wounds and J. died from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The police department’s special investigations unit will conduct a follow-up investigation, police said.

A Police Chief said that he was praying for the victims and that he was inspired by his officers’ bravery in responding to the incident.
