Re: Man Killed by Mother and Son
I speak some tagalog. I can hear the villagers saying stop and "he's hurt already.. See leave him be now." And more, "nooo! Stop! Just stop! That's bad! Ahhhh!" What I don't understand is that this could have easily been stopped. A few of them wanted too but got scared or something. A lot of them were traumatized especially the kids . you can hear then crying in the background praying. Its kind of cool that I see this and understand from their perspective a little since I've lived there for a bit. The people are kind and generous and simple.. Conflict like this they tend to run away from, the possibility of also getting hurt is high. The costs for medical coverage is enough to destroy families so they don't intervene even if they really really want to. Do whenever you see bystanders, first they will not intervene due to a lot of things. Not because they want to watch a fight. That's the last thing anyone wants, as most of these people are just looking to eat food and find happiness for the day. Its a weird concept to underatand because being an American , we engage in a lot of gruesome entertainment and expect most people to also enjoy watching a dude get stabbed. And have contempt for them if we witness what looks like pure ignorance. I don't think any of you guys would have stepped in. In fact the majority of you all would judge the situation as barbaric and continue eating your meal. |

Nods head over Diethylimide's comment, then goes back to his Big Mac.
