In Bauru, São Paulo state, Brazil, a 38-year-old motorcycle courier, whose name was not disclosed, was killed with machete blows after breaking into the apartment of his ex-wife, who was with her new boyfriend - a 26-year-old shelf stocker. The courier attacked the stocker with a metal pipe, which led to the stocker chasing the courier outside, where he killed the interloper with several machete blows.

According to police, the courier was in a relationship with the woman for two years, but the two had broken up about three months beforehand, and she started a relationship with the stocker three weeks ago. During the early hours of the 13th, the courier found his ex-wife returning from an outing with friends and threatened to kill her, but fellow residents of the condominium kicked him out of the premises. He returned around two hours later with a metal pipe in tow, and attacked the stocker with blows to the head.

Enraged, the stocker went to grab a machete. The courier fled, but once outside, the stocker attacked the courier with the weapon. A few minutes later, after the woman had taken the machete, the stocker returned to punch and kick the courier, who had collapsed from his injuries. Paramedics declared the courier dead at the scene.

The stocker, afraid of being lynched by the courier's family, hid in a wooded area, but called the police to surrender himself. He was taken to the police station and has been charged with murder.
