Pole decided to leave the old man with the cane alone. Don't see any heavy winds going on with that tree in the background. Ground was probably saturated with water from rainfall and the pole decided to take a nap not to get wet feet.

If that car was parked further back, the old man could have been spared. But I'm sure the driver didn't give a fuck as long as his ride was fine.
