He knew something was very wrong with his face, and he even tried to figure it out by touching it. Then he decided to NOT figure it out, because he knew he didn't want to really know what was wrong. I think he may have been trying to get some feedback from the guy in his face with a camera, but all he was doing was taking a video, not really there to help or explain.
