A 42-year-old man died after being stabbed inside a bakery on Monday morning. The suspect fled on foot after the crime.

According to the Military Police, the victim, Rafael S.d.M., ran into the establishment while being chased by a man armed with a knife. However, Rafael then lost his balance, allowing the suspect to catch up with him and inflict the blows.

Rafael managed to leave the bakery, but fell on the sidewalk in front of the establishment. Military Police and Fire Department teams were called, but Rafael was already dead when they arrived at the scene.

The following morning, the suspect appeared at the police station and confessed to the crime. He said he committed the murder out of jealousy, as Rafael had some sort of involvement with the suspect's wife.

However, by then, the period of time permitting the warrantless arrest of the suspect under Brazilian law had passed, and he had to be released. The investigation will be concluded and forwarded to the courts.

Exactly this. I feel like we were all expecting that ‘woozy’ crash into his surroundings, but he actually walked back into frame and then made it outside.
