the reality of the mentality is this. -he was warned (multiple times) -on private property -being physically abusive -one does not need a (weapon) to be considered a threat or dangerous -I would not release any child to someone i feel was intoxicated. (police should have been called and everyone back in the house) is this justified???.....well in texas, in this circumstance......this time it was. but i think alot of mistakes were made here. from both sides.  |

In the US its not legal to blindly shoot someone who won't get off your property. It is legal to shoot somebody who won't get off your property and is threatening to take away your gun and use it against you. Castle doctrine is a real thing but at the same time you have to be able to prove that your shooting was justified. I guarantee you the shooter was grilled at length by both Detectives and District Attorney's office before being cleared of any charges. It helped that there was video of it as well. I do know in this case he was not charged, but do not know if he was sued in civil court. I suspect he probably was. |

But he did deserve the death sentence he received for the way he chose to conduct himself on property that we all know for a fact that he was told to leave.
