Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas

I know right, he probably abused her at home to...
Who knows about that, but what is obvious is that it was his kid they were there for and she’s his “new” relationship, it was never gonna mean as much to her and he brought her along. I’m sure she was willing to go along as an extended means to prove her love for him, but odds are she didn’t know anyone in that conflict very well, or at least as well as everyone else involved in it. I’d reckon a persons first thought in that situation wouldn’t be to even suspect the guy would actually kill her partner, because obviously her partner himself didn’t suspect that either. I place my blame on the guy who brought the gun out. By every indication there was no need to escalate it to that point. He thought he needed to, but he didn’t. A lot of people are arguing on here about the dude going for his weapon to be justification for the shooting, but the guy brought the weapon out. One of the most oft repeated tenets of owning a firearm is “if you pull it, you’d better be expecting to use it.” There was no reason for him to even expect using a firearm in this situation. Dude was unarmed and wanted his kid. It could have been mediated with a much better result if either of them had a slightly cooler head, but in the end only one pulled a weapon, and in an ideal world he should face consequences. But this world ain’t ideal.

You are not supposed to pull a gun on an unarmed man, right? I don't think you are allowed to shoot trespassers. We need to start a new trend where people don't bring guns to fist fights. js

"Unarmed" doesn’t mean a damn thing. Yes you are absolutely allowed to pull guns on anyone who is threat.
This is Texas we shoot trespassers who are told to leave and act threatening

The man knows the laws of his state and you can tell. Hence the lack of panic, etc. Stand your ground law. Was he charged?

Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas

I think the dude with the gun was smaller in size so he was intimidated therefore he went and got the gun proceeded to shoot a warning shot at his own deck five seconds after that kills the guy it was pretty uncalled for if you ask me I would’ve handled it different because I have been in these situations before

He wasn't trespassing. He was there to pick up his son. All of you that are sticking up for this sissy, probably think you're big and bad with your guns. Because lord knows, you ain't shit without them, and you're probably bigger than me and can kick my ass. I'm just not afraid of getting an ass whooping.

Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas

Hey don’t start a confrontation on someone else’s property. He was told to leave more than once.

Just cause passions are high and you’re whining for your brat back? You fuck with a homeowner, even threaten him while he’s holding a long gun?

If I’m in my home and desire to hold my firearm, common sense should tell any invader, missing brat or not, to fuck off.

Never threaten an armed man on his own property.

Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas

When I interact with people, no matter how escalated the situation, I try to de-escalate it. I don't run off and come back with a weapon, hoping they give me a cause to shoot them. I don't go get a weapon because I want to prevent loss of life, not increase the chances.
