In this situation it is required the moment another person tries to take your firearm. You should know this.

Let’s say that he doesn’t fire his weapon after the man grabbed for his firearm. Let’s say the unarmed man charges at the armed man and successfully disarms him. Let’s say after the man disarma him that he turns the rifle on the firearm owner and shoots him and kills him.

If this were the case it would be asking why didn’t the man with the firearm just shoot the other guy.

Personally, I think he needs a very long timeout in jail. He brought the gun, he kept his gun, was able to retreat and raise it, but didn't need to fire again after giving the warning shot.
