Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas
It doesn't matter what the law in Texas is, what this man did was evil, period. And then carry on like nothing just happened. No compassion for human life whatsoever.

Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas
Even if I had to use a gun to save my life. I wouldn't want to actually kill someone. I'd immediately check and make sure he's at least neutralized, then try and keep him from dying.

Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas
I retract my statement saying "It doesn't matter what the law in Texas is." The law does matter, but no one's life was in danger. He had no reason to kill him.

He’s going to prison. Guy didn’t charge him after he got spun around, there was no threat.

Not to mention that he followed that up with "...and I'll use it on you" after threatening to disarm him, and then proceeding to attempt to disarm him. The next logical step was that he would shoot the owner. I mean, this is going to be caught up in legal shit for months, but the reality is that he defended himself from imminent danger.

Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas
This is my frustration as well. I am a gun owner, but regardless of the law, this was from an ethical standpoint absolutely irresponsible gun usage. Bringing out a firearm was an unnecessary escalation. He didn't get his gun because hi life was truly threatened, he got his gun because it had turned into a dick measuring contest with them both acting like a couple of alpha male apes. Cops were already on their way, situation could have been defused. No matter the faults of the biological dad, the child is going to have a much more difficult life without him. This is one of those situations where there are no winners, everyone lost. |

Re: Man Fatally Shot During Dispute In Texas
It will be an interesting case for sure. It seems Kyle is/was married to a judge. Chad the shooter doesn't live at this house, so I wonder how the law works in regards to Texas self-defense. I could see this going either way in court.
