Re: Man Falls Under Truck Wheels During Road Rage Incident
That's standard operating procedure for accidents in India, the driver that survives gets arrested no matter who's fault it is. Subsequent investigations might exonerate the driver but only after much harassment.

This is if their lucky. That’s why they have many hit-and-runs. There are plenty of videos you can find here of the street justice that is more likely to be the fate of drivers who run someone over. Usually you get lynched before trial. |

Re: Man Falls Under Truck Wheels During Road Rage Incident
You could be right, though I haven't really witnessed many lynchings or read about any that were traffic related. The hit and run part is right, it's often better to flee than to expose yourself to the Indian justice system. Reminds me of a an incident I went thru when I was young and stupid. I knocked a cyclist down when my side mirror tapped his handle. I got out to check if he was ok (which he was) and shared my phone number (because I read in a readers digest article that it was the right thing to do). Later that night I get a phone call demanding money as compensation for his destroyed cycle and broken leg. He kept trying his luck for a week until I told him to fuck off or I'll file a report saying he was drunk during the accident. |
