Man Was Electrocuted On Roof of Train After Touching High-Voltage Wire
Lleida, Catalonia, Spain A 26-year-old man, of Moroccan origin, was fatally electrocuted, and his friend, also originally from Morocco, suffered injuries after they climbed onto the roof of a train at Lleida Pirineus railway station. The deceased had came into contact with a high-voltage wire, and received a shock of around 25,000 volts. His friend, horrified, fell onto the platform and suffered a severe anxiety attack. According to a train passenger: "What we heard was a dull thud, an electric buzz, and about five minutes later, more or less, the train’s fuses blew, and we were in darkness for a long time." The police are investigating whether they jumped from the footbridge or accessed from the tracks, as well as analysing whether their intention was, in fact, to sneak onto the train. |

An incident involving both a train and electricity? I thought the separatists in Catalonia wanted to be independent--not become a part of India. |
