Residents of Mannheim are gathering at the site of the death of 47-year-old A.P, who died on Monday in a hospital in that German city after a police action and arrest.

Those gathered say that Mannheim is a multiethnic city and that they were shocked by the act of such police brutality. No one is indifferent when they pass by the place of suffering.

The victim was born in Mannheim, but his family was born in Rama, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Family members have requested a police investigation because they want to know exactly what happened and how much guilt is on the two police officers who intervened.

After his death, two German police officers from Mannheim are under investigation.

The case is being investigated by the State Criminal Police Office in Stuttgart (LKA).

The SWR portal said on Tuesday that the investigation was aimed at reconstructing the whole event, primarily the use of direct force by police officers, as well as the health of a man who died in hospital on Monday after a police operation at Marktplatz in Mannheim. Police called witnesses to come forward with useful information.

I don't think there's enough footage here to make a definitive case for police brutality.

Thing is, since this is a straight white guy, the "outcry" will probably fade after a day or two anyway.

Sorry for the guy and his family -- there was no mention of him having done anything to warrant such a death.
