A man caused shock this Thursday in the city of Seville by self-harming in the middle of the road, in full view of passers-by. Shortly before, the man had entered a fishmonger’s shop, where he stole a knife and immediately began using it to inflict injuries upon his own neck.

Susana C., who manages the fishmongers, said that, shortly after midday, a man in his early forties, whom she had never seen before, suddenly entered and headed toward the area behind the counter, all while repeating the phrase "Un momento. Un momento." He had previously attempted, without success, to ask for a knife at another establishment.

Susana and her cousin tried to prevent the man from grabbing hold of one of the knives. A struggle ensued, during which Susana sustained a scratch on her arm. Finally, the man seized the knife and immediately began to inflict wounds upon his own neck.

The man then walked out of the fishmongers and continued to inflict wounds on his neck, until he collapsed. By the time police and an ambulance arrived, the man had died.
