He was struggling to try and breathe. A slow, desperate death. Your brain is in oxygen depravation, sending signals out to continue to breathe. The body is going through the motions, but still no new oxygen. Panic sets in.

Our relationship was very good, he had a good relationship with everyone," said the aunt of L.F.d.S, 20, who died being pressed by a train this Friday. The aunt, 43, said her nephew was leaving work at the time of the accident. He was a mototaxi driver, but he had gotten a job as a mason to help with the rent. Before arriving at the station, he asked his wife for money to go back home. "What we know is that he left work around 6 p.m. and asked his wife for money, who took a picture for him. I guess he failed to recharge his Riocard card though. From what they are saying, I don't really know what happened, he went to jump off the platform to cross, but couldn't get up and got run over by the train," she said. On social media, other passengers report that he was already inside the terminal. "He did not invade the station. He was on one platform and tried to cross to another. Trying to come back, the train hit him. The train, despite applying the emergency brake, dragged and he got stuck. Shocked, the aunt said she recognized the nephew in videos circulated on social media showing the boy crushed between the train to the platform. "My daughter said, 'mum, it might not be him, because he's on his back.' I know him from my back, front, side... Its him. We haven't seen any burial yet, but we will decide now," explained the sunt. Family members of the young man were this Saturday afternoon (1st) at the Instituto Médico Legal (IML), in the Center of Rio. He leaves a wife and two children.  · |
