well obliterate means to utterly destroy, wipe out, so it is technically apt for this video since it wiped out his life, but yeah it is a bit of a dramatic word for this particular video and it unfairly built up my expectations. and not saying he should not have still looked both ways, but it looks kinda like this is a one way street and I think pickup truck was just being reckless. poor street crossing guy. |

He should have looked both ways of course, but the truck was driving the wrong direction of a one way street. It's easy to understand why this guy wouldn't have expected a vehicle coming from his right.
