A man with a history of violence and prior robbery convictions was shot dead outside a gym on Friday morning (15).

Ednir C.S.d.O. was hit by at least six bullets and died at the scene before medical help arrived. Security camera footage captured the incident, showing a white car with at least two occupants waiting for the victim. A hooded man exited the vehicle, called Oliveira by name and fired multiple shots, mostly to the head. One bullet struck the gym's glass, causing panic among people inside.

Ednir had two prior robbery records and was serving a sentence in a semi-open regime under house arrest. To enrol at the gym, he used a different name from his official records. Investigators noted that Ednir had survived an attempted murder in January of this year and had been arrested again in 2024.
