The San Diego Sheriff's office is warning people to stay away from Evergreen Ave. and Seacoast Drive in Imperial Beach, as San Diego Police are investigating a deputy involved shooting. City News Service is reporting that one man died in the shooting.

They are warning of increased law enforcement activity in the area, but say there is no immediate danger to the public.

Witnesses tell 10News that the incident happened in the middle of Imperial Beach's "Powwow Festival," a family-friendly event, honoring Native Americans. They say they hear multiple gunshots just before 2:00 in the afternoon.

Witnesses also tell 10News that they believe the person shot was an unhoused man, well known in the area. San Diego Police, the investigating agency, has not yet released the name of the person shot. Multiple witnesses believe the person shot was brandishing a knife.

God, I don't know why anyone would want to be a police officer. Not only do you have to make split second decisions in life or death scenarios, but you have to also deal with morons second guessing those decisions and making your job even harder.

On Sunday, December 21, 2025, at approximately 1:38 p.m., two San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies and a sergeant were contacted by a male near the Imperial Beach Pier, located at 940 Seacoast Drive.

During the contact, the male stepped away from the deputies and produced a knife. The male made statements consistent with wanting to be shot by the deputies, then advanced toward them holding the knife in his hand.

One deputy fired multiple shots at the man, striking him at least once.

The man was transported to a local hospital, but he did not survive his injuries.

He is not being identified at this time pending family notification.

San Diego Police Homicide Detectives were called to investigate per the countywide memorandum of understanding regarding officer-involved shootings.

Officer-involved shooting investigations are extremely thorough, as is the review process.

When SDPD Homicide completes its investigation, it will be reviewed by the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office to determine if the deputy bears any criminal liability for their actions.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office will conduct an administrative investigation into the deputy’s discharge of their service weapon.

The Federal Bureau of Investigations and the United States Attorney’s Office will also be monitoring the investigation.

I think we'll be curious of how long it's going to take them release the body camera footage. I thank that better record of it.

For people around the world obviously we're going to wait till they release the body camera video if the officers even had them cameras on them cuz of trump Administration doesn't require that, has the Oracle has stated this period of occur out of them Powell in San Diego California these are major events that Native American celebrate with fellow native American Indians please note we know nicknames sometimes feather Indians to not get mixed up with punjabis from India they're basically the Red Dot ones the feather Native American Indians basically means they use feathers and some of their own culture dancing stuff which you can see one of the members actually blocking off the protesters they're screaming at the cops these people would have been here a lot longer than the Caucasian people or otherwise colonizers or whatever they want to call white folks and no Christopher Columbus didn't discovered America Bahamas is not the USA laugh out loud sorry Italians but like I say I'll be curious of the body Cambridge and I'm pretty sure the officers are going to release the video if they got it since all this videos been published by people that witnessed the incident but as you can see at least one of them doesn't have the full incident only the end and another one may have captured the beginning of it but it's hard to tell if there's a weapon present in the victim appear to be homeless no officers or anyone else a anyone else got injured or hurt the incident at least the officers now will get the whole week off for Christmas and New Years so that's how I usually goes after they blow someone away God bless the person who lost there life.

For all of my life it's been me against the system. I did work all my life until I couldn't you all know that I was an electrician DJ at night then golf course in the evening I worked my ass off all my life to make my parents proud when really I was just wasting my time trying to make them proud cuz they never cared My dad's been dead a long time and I still cry everyday because I miss him tonight I ate a golf ball size chunk of fentanyl I couldn't believe it made me vomit like three times but I kept swallowing it some say it's selfish to want to commit suicide I say it's selfish if you saying that cuz you have no idea what a person in the state of mind thinks or feels or has been going through forever you say It'll get better but the only way it will ever get better is when I set myself free. I forgave my mother and I forgive everyone else that thinks I'm mad at him or that they hurt me it's not your fault life's a series of lessons we just learned until we die along with suffering the loss of people we love. I had my name taken off the housing list in California today because I don't want their help anymore All their help is doing is keeping a system funded to create jobs for people that are supposed to help homeless when really all they're doing is using homeless to maKe up bull shit jobs.
