Man Is Beaten to Death With a Scythe Over Family Dispute
Campo Alegre, Alagoas, Brazil A 59-year-old man, Sebastião F.d.S., was beaten to death by at least three people, two of whom were armed with a scythe and a piece of wood. According to a local homicide detective, the crime was motivated by a family dispute involving the custody of Sebastião's granddaughter. The detective also reported that the families had already exchanged threats. A teenager was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the crime. He was taken to a police station where an arrest warrant was issued against him. Hours after the teenager was arrested, his brother was arrested hiding in a thicket in the city. The other suspect, their father, remains at large.  |
