While you can't see any blood splatter in the frame, you can see the splatter in his shadow in the sand.

If you stop it at 10 sec. mark you can see his hat has blown off but his head looks completely intact without any blood splatter in the frame.
Probably bullet struck back of his head and stayed inside the cranium.
