Re: Loss in Stocks, He Jumped into the Steel Furnace

I could have sworn I saw a similar video! But some years ago.
Wonder if one day someone will suicide into a volcano.
May as well video themselves falling in, similar to that rock band guy who threw himself off a roof and the camera work was a thing of beauty. Only a few seconds, but to see him, all serene and calm, his beautiful long hair flowing...chefs kiss.
Got a link to rock band guy? Don't think I've seen that one

Re: Loss in Stocks, He Jumped into the Steel Furnace

I wonder if anyone saw him do this? And, if not, how long it took people to figure it out.......

don't think he felt much as with that heat it's poof and you're gone. At least he didn't jump in front of a train/truck whatever.

If anyone wants to see how lava reacts to organic material such as a human, check YouTube. The reaction is quite insane

Re: Loss in Stocks, He Jumped into the Steel Furnace

How on Earth would they remove his remains (if any)? I mean, that's a lot of good steel gone to waste, otherwise..
All the crap that ISN'T steel, floats on the surface, like soap suds in a sink. You skim it off before you pour. It's just all kinds of gnarly carbon, grit, dust, etc. Stuff that isn't steel just doesn't sink. It stays on the surface and burns up. Rather than being like a normal liquid, think of it like taking the top off a quart of chocolate ice cream, and dropping something onto the surface. It's not like a liquid that you drop into, like soup.
I heard a story of a guy that fell into a steel furnace, and landed on the hard crust of the steel. His quick thinking and incredibly brave friend set a ladder on the crust, climbed down, and carried the buy back up and out of the furnace. What a huge set of balls that took!
This HAD to have hurt a LOT! Like a hamburger hitting the surface of the grill.

As an impurity, he might be able to be skimmed off as slag...
