Re: Live Webcam Hanging
I’m pretty sure loss of consciousness happens pretty quickly. Possibly before he fully dropped if he was putting good pressure on his carotid arteries. He’s probably totally unaware of the jerking movements and attempts at breathing his body is going through.

Re: Live Webcam Hanging
I think they are not conscious after seconds (probably when his hands drop). The more dramatic struggling after that is a primitive brain stem response to asphyxia. It can go on for several minutes. Correct. The "dramatic struggling" is due to contraction of the breathing muscles. |

Re: Live Webcam Hanging
This guy died painlessly. He was unconscious within 10 seconds and never struggled for air. Speaking from survivor experience.

Re: Live Webcam Hanging
My fatass would never be able to hang my self. I would’ve probably brought that beam down or perhaps a ceiling fan. I would probably jump off something high or blow my brains out. But that’s just my own sick thoughts.

Re: Live Webcam Hanging
I had a friend who hung himself. He did it in the foyer of his house that was open up to the 2nd floor balcony. He had scratches around his neck where he apparently was trying to grab at the rope. His wife walked in the front door & found him like that. He was a really cool guy who suffered tremendously with schizophrenia for the last several years of his life. |
