There's a lot of stuff here that nobody "wants" to see. I think it is important to see this for exactly that reason. This is the hard cold truth of what happens under dictatorial regimes. It's terribly sad and difficult to watch this though. I do agree about that. When I take a moment to self-reflect, I find it fascinating how different a reaction I have from seeing this vs. some of the really gruesome stuff on this site. There's gotta be something hard wired in the human mind that repulses us from the sight of a dead child. But when I see a grown man in India electrocuting himself on top of a railroad car, or when I see a rock climber messing up and falling to his death, I laugh out loud. But when it's an innocent child, there is nothing but dismay, sadness, disgust, horror, etc. I do appreciate it when people put *child warning* labels on their posts though. At least it gives the option of avoiding such terrible sights if one so chooses. |
