So, do you think it was disassembled intentionally?
I dunno. Seems redundant to go to that extent to make a firearm safe when the perps brains are liquefied.
Maybe someone was trying to be a hero and show their gun skillz.
Maybe all he had was the frame, hoping it'd be enough to startle his victims into handing over their valuables.
I like your description though.

I like your description though.
I started to wonder if maybe crime scene thefts could be such a problem--in a crowd like this, or a lone cop holding the fort until others showed up, that there might be some kind of policy in place. I looked around some, but I didn't read anything about it.

Never seen a Taurus blow up before and the frame looks completely stripped. I suspect the gun wasn’t functional to begin with. Could have been struck by a round. His forhead looks like it tried to stop a rifle round and wasn’t successful. Looks like a nice .30 caliber hole. Being Brazil I say one of those FALs did it.
Looks to me like the slide stop got broken and the slide sprung forward.
