Re: Lesson of the Day: Never Make Death Threats Against the Police

So.... who says the cops did that? Either way... whoever did it is a murderer and deserves to be locked up off the streets. If someone threatens me, and then I kill them, I'd get locked up, right? So those are the rules of society. Are you guys ok with police not having to follow the same laws that you have to follow? Does anyone here realize that police ARE infact human beings just the same as you and I? They are just as corrupt as any other organization on the planet. I certainly don't understand the support for police murdering someone. Self defence is one thing. Flat out murdering someone for uttering threats is completely different. I suppose you all think that the rest of us should also be allowed to murder people that utter verbal threats through videos as well? Fill me in.

Right, cuz the favelas are full of honest, upstanding, law-abiding citizens....they're just misunderstood.
Go look at the number of people they shoot every year, the corruption, the ransoms......... It's called reality, you should look into it.

we don't know the full story.perhaps the kid had a weapon at the time of the final confrontation, or appeared to have one. personally I doubt it, but just maybe. at any rate, we see what goes on in brasil- this kid's demise, whether legal or not, is very likely no loss whatsoever to the planet.

The cops in America kill a person about once every 31000 arrests.

The cops in Brazil kill a person on average once every 230 arrests.

No, problem with those numbers at all
And people in America think the cops there are too trigger happy

Go look at the number of murders that gangs, drug dealers and other criminals commit every year....It's called selective amnesia, apparently you have it.

How utterly retarded...do you have a clue of the two nations you mentioned, which has the higher crime rate, not to mention murder rate?

Brazil is ONLY #3 in the world in MURDER. Hard to belive there are worse places.

"Two years ago, 50,108 people were murdered in Brazil. In 2013, that number was 53,646. Violent crime is reportedly declining in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Targeted pacification programs were beginning to curb the rampant violence of the urban slums by putting police officers in the favelas once the areas were retaken from drug gangs. Brazilian police tactics are notoriously aggressive; nationwide Brazil’s police forces kill nearly 2,000 people a year. Some analysts now question whether the tide is now turning, as more-violent criminal elements fight for turf. Criminals appear to be able to obtain weapons with ease, despite the arduous licensing requirements for the average person in Brazil to own firearms. Handguns, knives, machetes, or cutlasses tend to be the weapons of choice. Criminals may act brazenly, and are increasingly willing to resort to violence while committing all types of crimes: burning alive a doctor who didn’t have enough money in her bank account to satisfy the thieves; shooting to death a school custodian who had just been paid his salary that was three months in arrears; killing a tourist who didn’t understand the demands of his roadside assailants.

During the holidays in Rio, marauding gangs of youths descended from the favelas to rob beachgoers with impunity in broad daylight. No one had the means to fight back, faced with guns and knives and a shocking lack of human compassion."

Brazil loses more people to murder each year than the US lost to combat deaths during the twenty years of the Vietnam war...oh, but the real problem is overly aggressive police, right? Not a nation facing a pandemic of crime? Christ, you CAN'T be serious...Yeh, let's blame the police for reacting like animals when they're dealing with vicious animals...

God help 'em during the Olympics...
