At least six people were killed on the spot, leaving dozen others critically injured during a Brufut automobile accident. The incident happened 4 days ago.

There was no ambulance to transport the injured victims to the nearest clinic for treatment. The injured were left to suffer for hours.

The tragic accident has left the community of Brufut completely devastated. Gambia’s road network is not good. Road accidents accounts for almost forty percent of the deaths. The majority of the vehicles plying the roads are old.

The police have been found wanting in getting in its duties. Drivers Licenses are being issued to inexperienced drivers. Corruption is the order of the day in The Gambia.

Public safety has not been given the utmost priority it deserves in The Gambia. This is the forth accident which occurred in the month of April in The Gambia.

Meanwhile, the death toll has increased in the Brufut car accident. Sources reaching us said due to lack of good healthcare system, some of the victims couldn’t make it.

The government of dictator Yahya Jammeh has been accused of neglecting the nation’s socio-economic and developmental needs.

Both the infrastructure and the economy have collapsed. There is no hope for economic and infrastructural recovery anytime soon.
