I have seen this kind of thing before though I was never involved in an incident like that. I am a former police officer and the adrenalin rush is through the roof so much so that if one officer, trigger happy or not shoots, it is contagious and everyone follows suit and shoots. It happened on my department. Several officers surrounded a vehicle in which the driver was involved in an armed robbery. The driver decided he did not want to be arrested so he took off. One officer fired his weapon at the car and about 8 other officers joined in. They did not kill the driver, but shot up the car dealership across the street. Same thing happened at Kent State in 1971. One trigger happy National Guardsmen fired a shot at the student protestors and that and then the whole company of Guardsmen opened up. Crazy stuff. Also. I read that the dude had the box cutter in one hand and reached in his pocket with the other and quickly pulled out a shiny object and the cops were spooked and were not waiting around to find out the hard way if it was a gun he was drawing on them.

its harder to prosecute when there are 10 cops shooting vs 1. how ever the dude should not be holding a weapon. he probably wanted to die?

Should have put more in him for wasting everyones fucking time. At the end of the day if I pulled a box cutter on someone I’d hope someone hits me with more than a taser or bean bag, for their sake.
