At Least 7 Killed, 20 Injured in Multi Vehicle Accident
March 1, In Mixco, a municipality in the Guatemala department of Guatemala an out of control truck rammed into multiple veicles. 38 vehicles got damaged and two children of eight and ten years, along with five adults, are among the fatal victims of the accident. 20 got injured. The manager of Emixtra, Pablo Morales, indicated that there are several factors that could cause the lack of control of the truck, among which he mentioned human causes such as fatigue of the driver as well as excessive speed and possible failures in the braking system. The driver of the heavy vehicle was guarded by the National Civil Police (PNC) until he was discharged from the hospital at Roosevelt Hospital, where he was treated for a wound. He was transferred to the Mixco Court of Shift. "The fatalities were trapped between the twisted vehicles, so it was necessary to use hydraulic equipment called" jaw of life "to extract the bodies, a firefighter told. |

More like service your vehicles for piss sakes! This is why there are rules and regulations for trucks. But companies in these other countries probably don't want to spend money that'd be needed to meet the requirements for all their vehicles to be safe on the roadways. They want to work their drives to fatigue. Time is money. If you can't do that, you're fired. A lot of factors go into what has caused this crash. Can't just be, speeding.   |

38 years of truck driving and mechanic looks to me like another accident caused by truck brake fade, bad vehicle servicing and driving.
