At Least 18 People Killed, 29 Injured when Train Hits a Bus
At least 18 people have died and 29 have been injured this Sunday after a train collided with a passenger bus in the east of Bangkok. Rescue work continues to recover several bodies that are still trapped. The accident occurred at 9.20 a.m.at Khlong Khwaeng Klan Station in Chachoengsao province when a train struck a bus carrying 60 factory workers on their way to a ceremony at a temple. According to local media, there is no barrier at the crossing of the track and the bus driver did not react to the train's alarm signal. A member of the rescue teams assured that two hours after the accident they had still not been able to remove most of the bodies trapped in the wreckage of the bus and that they expected more deaths. Among the fatalities is the bus driver.            |
