Take from an experienced cyclist, no, these are actually worthless. That tiny mirror provides almost zero read on the distance between you and whatever is in the mirror (depth perception). It's not like a rearview in a car or a larger side mirror on a motorcycle. Additionally, they came up on him super quick. Not much time to react. He looked like a weekend warrior type guy out for a casual spin, not an experienced cyclist with the savvy to make that split moment decision. I see you're taking a lot of shit from other posters about your suggestion to not ride on the road, and you added to it by the comment about people just wanting to make a cool tik tok video. Most of us who visit this site aren't going to be carved up by a cartel but this particular topic hits a nerve with anyone who rides a bike or motorcycle, so a really shitty job on your part reading the room. But if you intended to be a dick, bravo, you nailed it.
