Los Angeles Police Department officers responding to a car accident late Wednesday afternoon shot and killed a man on the street with an “edged weapon,” according to the agency.

About 5:30 p.m., officers from the Newton station arrived at the accident scene near 32nd and San Pedro streets and soon encountered the man holding the weapon, according to the LAPD.

The man was hit by gunfire, fell to the ground and died at the scene, the LAPD said. The edged weapon was recovered at the scene, according to the agency.

The LAPD released only minimal information Wednesday evening about the shooting and will provide a more detailed report, probably in four days, an agency spokesman said.

Two people involved in the traffic accident were taken to a hospital and were in stable condition.

The shooting occurred about half a mile from where Alex Flores, 34, was shot and killed by police in November.

Officials found the weapon, described as some sort of folding knife with a blade several inches long, next to the suspect, police said.

It was not clear Wednesday evening whether the suspect had been involved in the initial car crash, police said.

Perhaps the raw, primitive aspects of the accident triggered his deep machismo instincts and inspired him to take on a firing squad of cops. Cops keep shooting after the Mexican is down and out of action, gotta make sure macho man doesn't get another half a million USD in free medical care and rehab to fix his new bullet holes.

It was a female cop that shoot the guy, what a moron, female cops are even quicker to go trigger happy due to their auto-perceived inferiority in a hand to hand combat against a suspect, she would have shot the guy even for approaching her brandishing a middle finger. she shot at the guy from about 15 yards away if not more.

Several problems here. A female cop whose command voice sounds like she's pissed off about getting somebody else's latte at the Starbucks. She shoots the guy twice on a crowded street from too far away to be sure of hitting him and not a bystander, not that he didn't have it coming, but then she double-taps again after a few seconds, and then again after a few seconds more. That looks like murder. The cops then proceed to pose for group photographs while he bleeds out. They have to give him first aid, not being Judge fucking Dredd. Maybe if the cops had the balls to patrol that area instead of only showing up to gawk at traffic accidents, the residents would realize that you can't walk down the street brandishing a deadly weapon. At least the cops don't all routinely carry assault rifles yet like the Carabinieri.
