KUWAIT, June 18 (KUNA) -- Authorities carried out death sentence on Tuesday against two persons who had been convicted of murder and rape and declared the maximum punishment was intended to curb crime.
The execution was executed by the department of verdicts' execution of the Ministry of Interior, with supervision of judge Mohammad Rashed Al-Dueij, the head of criminal execution and international cooperation.
It was also attended by justices, officers of the ministry and journalists.
Al-Duaij said in a statement after the execution that the verdict was carried out in line with the Holy Book, the Qoran, noting that His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, endorsed the death order last week.
The chief judge of the court of cassation had issued the death verdict and the date of the execution had been set by the public prosecution, he said, noting that journalists were allowed to witness the execution by gallows with aim of deterring would-be criminals from committing such evil actions.
Up to 29 others remain on death row, justice Al-Duaij added, indicating that HH the Amir would give final endorsement of rulings in these cases.
One of the convicts, Hajjaj Al-Saeedi, an Egyptian, had been found guilty of abduction and rape. The other, Ahmad Al-Beili, was brought to the gallows for premeditated murder of two persons by setting their house alight and planning to kill two others. Al-Saeedi, who had been notoriously dubbed by the local press as "the monster of Hawalli" had raped five children, sending shockwaves of terror across the district for a long period of time

Guy on the right didn't die as fast as the one of the left, supposed to be quite painful if the head doesn't internally sever from the spine instantly (like it is supposed to in this sort of hanging)
