A fatal traffic accident occurred on the Unaaha-Kolaka Main Road, Wawotobi, Konawe, on Wednesday afternoon (April 8, 2026).

Konawe Police Public Relations Chief Inspector Andi Gafur said the incident involved a Honda Scoopy motorcycle with registration number DT 6879 WA and a Hino Tractor Head truck with registration number L 8023 UUC.

"The incident occurred around 5:00 PM WITA in Ranoeya Village, Wawotobi District, Konawe Regency.

The truck, driven by Muh. A. (23), was traveling from Unaaha towards Kendari with a container load," he said. He continued, "While traveling downhill, the truck hit the rear of the motorcycle ridden by Pitriani (20).

"The victim, who was in front of the truck, was traveling in the same direction before being hit from behind," he added. He continued, "The force of the impact caused the victim to fall and be run over by the truck."
