Lets say they did it your way. They're in their car and she's foot loose with a big ass knife and two kids strollin' around in the streets -- what if she instead of taking her anger out on the cops, starts directing it onto her kids? She's clearly not mentally stable.

I think if the kids weren't around they could have given her a pass, maybe use mace on her or something. I know it's probably easier to sit here and come up with things they could have done instead of killing her -- than actually doing them. Things are happening so fast and you gotta make big decisions fast.

Stop making excuses for lazy, privileged fucking police work. They did it the way they did because they can always fall back on shooting someone.

Take that out of the equation and a world of next steps open up.

Keep their distance. Establish why she’s even wielding a knife? Seems to think the police are going to take her children?

Call for backup. Set up a perimeter. Close the street. Use the tannoy to tell people to stay in their homes. Drive along the street to make sure it’s clear.

Put on a stab vest. Use a taser. Hit her behind the legs with a baton. Shoot her somewhere less fatal.

There are so many fucking different policing avenues it’s embarrassing. She could have experienced trauma. She could have been in psychosis. She didn’t deserve to die. End of story.

People who talk shit about cops, put yourself in their shoes. "Just shoot her somewhere less fatal" or baton her legs as she stabs you have no sense of self preservation. Whether a civilian or a police officer, the goal is to STOP THE ATTACK, preferably without sustaining injury yourself. She and she alone decided to attack, so what happened is her fault. Sometimes stopping the attack proves fatal for the attacker. You're out there and she comes for you with a knife, you're going to want to stop her and I'm sorry to say, that means you put the kid gloves away and put on the big boy gloves and take care of the situation.
