Re: A Kiss, and then Goodbye
Well now... Grandpa forgot to change his reading glasses for his driving glasses that day. He had to get close enough to read the “STOPS AT ALL RAILROAD CROSSINGS” warning on the back of the truck. Unfortunately for Grandpa, he died. He didn’t see the train speeding across the road and stopping traffic because the truck was blocking his view at that very moment. You see, Grandpa had to be very close to the truck in order to read with those glasses... Grandpa was a little late getting the truck’s warning about stopping for railroads. Fortunately, the accident happened just across the street from the state newspaper office and Grandpa not only had his childhood dream come true, getting his picture on the front page, but but they even made him FAMOUS!!! The newspaper made sure everyone knew just how this happened so others will not have to suffer as poor Grandpa had. Though he did get to live on as a bumper sticker... |
