it depends which part she is talking about - the large bit in the middle looks like lighting; he did hit his head, but that is the smaller red mark on the right side of the counter

What appears to be a part of the earmuffs falls into the fifth recess under the countertop, it looks like the metal piece that held the left earmuff in place ricocheted from the wall partition to the left and fell to the countertop, finally coming to rest inside the recess under the countertop.
