Re: Kidnapped Youths Torture Video Sent to Their Relatives
Fascinating. Now I feel even more sorry for the dude who stabbed his friends. Imagine looking up, thinking you've placated your captors, and they're like "uh uh uh", and a few hours later you're locked in the trunk of a car with the temperature rapidly climbing and fiery smoke clogging and cooking your air passages.... Then again, I never said stabbing your friends was the RIGHT thing to do, I said it was the FIRST thing you'd consider in that kind of situation. He chose poorly |

Re: Kidnapped Youths Torture Video Sent to Their Relatives
My hypothetical has no bearing on what my actions would be and it has nothing to do with mercy. You misunderstood the question. If you were in this situation, captured, and you clearly understood that you will all die regardless of whether you comply or not, but.... if you don't comply with killing your friend, you'll experience a level of torture beyond your wildest imagination.... well, it's easy to say we wouldn't from our keyboards, but we don't truly know what our decision would be until we're in that situation. The first thing I noticed from the photo, before watching the video, was that our Buccaneer friend had the least amount of damage to his face, which stood out as odd. Clearly, the others resisted more than him. And obviously, by the time I saw the video, I could see just how obedient he turned out to be. We see his dead friends in a pile at the bottom of the screen. We don't know exactly how they were killed... but imagine for a moment that their deaths were not straight-forward beheadings... Anyway, all I'm getting at is that I think our little Buccaneer knew he was a dead man and was not fighting for his life. He was fighting for a less brutal end to his own life. |

...and I will add, can you imagine what was running through his mind when he realised that after murdering his own friend, rather than receiving a swift beheading, they would set him on fire in a car! Absofuckinglutely brutal. And for the record, no I wouldn't kill my own friend. I would die trying to kill my captors. |

I believe that's the Stirling method adopted for a silent kill in WWII, used by British Marines.

Re: Kidnapped Youths Torture Video Sent to Their Relatives
"The images show acts of violence, but no authority has confirmed their authenticity. The father of one of the youths, spoke to media outside the Prosecutor's Office. He mentioned that he has seen the material, but still hopes to find his son and his friends alive." You know what to expect, as does this father, I'd wager, but your heart still breaks. There are some truly, twisted, evil fucks in this world we could do without. |

If I knew I was going to die I would be a right bastard.
