My thought as well. many of the other videos, especially the Mexican editions, seem to show the intended victim drugged. Or else why would you sit there calmly while a guy with a chainsaw is coming at your neck. Run!

But this guy seemed pretty lucid. It makes no sense that he would give a speech knowing what was coming, which is why people question the authenticity.

Also, the accent sounded a bit like South African to me instead of British, but I can't be sure.

I think it's more likely that they are hopeful that releasing their propaganda videos like this, the videos will be spread in full by western media/etc. It doesn't seem to have worked but I think that's probably the idea.

I think they're just a little more tech-savvy than the Narcos and actually have the ability to edit their videos. They probably left out the part where they were sawing away at his throat with that little knife or brought in a saw of some sort - all about presentation....like you said, maybe it will get played more without a huge chunk in the middle with him hunched over Foley's body fumbling around trying to get through the spine and remove his head like you always see with the Zetas and CDG.
