Variety of reasons; beheading is very "intimate" and "up close and personal" and for that reason is utterly heinous. Also its the way to kill infidels; slitting their throats, its how they kill their farm animals, halal meat etc. Also it doesnt get much more gruesome and downright mediaeval does it? dont forget, fear is the best weapon, which is how terrorism works.

I understand your sentiments, after all I am very much a proponent of showering that landmass with Trident D5 MIRVs, in theory; the reality would be very different though. It would cause a worldwide global thermonuclear war, and well, hey, why have a nuclear war?????????

There will never be peace as long as the war mentality lives on in everyone. To retaliate is to perpetuate a never-ending battle amongst ourselves. WE need to stop all together. Live and let live. Both sides just need to stop.
