so walking next to the crosswalk just outside the lines is still considered J walking. interesting
Pedestrians are supposed to cross within marked crosswalks, or at unmarked crosswalks at intersections. An unmarked crosswalk is the location where two roadways intersect but no marked crosswalk is present, for instance in a residential neighborhood.

Jaywalking is technically crossing "between adjacent intersections at which traffic-control signals are in operation." In this instance, pedestrians shall not cross at any place except in a marked crosswalk.

While it may be legal to cross a roadway outside of a crosswalk, pedestrians are required to yield the right of way to all vehicles.

When the title said J-walking I thought it meant that she was crossing in the middle of the block. Girlfriend was barely out of the zebra.

Still, I think it was a safe bet that neither one of them were paying attention.
