Rota bus crashes into rest stop, leaving dead and injured on Monday morning.

The week began with devastating news for the southwestern region of Bahia. Around 7 a.m. on Monday (6), a serious accident involving a Rota Transportes bus left a trail of destruction and casualties in the municipality of Itambé.

According to initial reports, the bus driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed heavily into a roadside rest stop located on the side of the BA-263 highway, opposite the Rio Pardo gas station.

The vehicle struck a building structure, destroying the entrance where several passengers were waiting, both inside and outside.

The impact of the collision was fatal for two people, who died at the scene before help arrived. Several others were injured in the collision and the partial collapse of the structure.

Local residents who witnessed the incident acted quickly to help the victims trapped in the rubble and called the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU).

The injured victims were taken to a hospital in the area, and their health is still being monitored by medical teams. The cause of the driver's loss of control of the bus remains under investigation.

For some unknown reason the bus went after everyone’s legs.
Not much damage to bus so it will be back on the road shortly.

Sure, it splashes and is cute, but it's NOT something you want to encounter while on the road!
