Re: Italian Man Dies After Leaping Into Jet Engine
From the way it happened, I suspect the flight crew had already been warned by the ground personnel, and had shut down both engines. That is why he went in, but then fell back out. If that had even been just at a full idle, it would have swallowed him in a tenth of a second. Even at idle, there is about 3000 hp on those blades. At full power, it is probably more like 10,000-12,000 HP. I still have the conversion factor for converting thrust to hp on jet engines. It does take some calculation, because there is no direct conversion, like from F to C temps. |

His arms and his head are probably missing. But they will still need at LEAST half of a casket for the funeral. And then some poor fucker has to take that engine apart, piece by piece, and clean all that stuff out. |

Re: Italian Man Dies After Leaping Into Jet Engine
Anticlimactic, but the livery on the engine nacelles already looked a bit like 'bloody gills', so I was confused in the first couple seconds as to perhaps the vid had begun immediately after the 'money shot'.
