they should have attacked at night, and pushed the vehicle more forward so they could have assaulted the position. Don't understand why they stopped the vehicle where they did, and just took pot shots....
My guess is because they are cowards, and they wanted to give the illusion of fighting for their cause and being manly men, but still have a good chance of surviving.

Thing is, the Peshmerga are some badass mofos. Those Daesh didn't stand a chance.
