Re: Islamic state 19 Minute sniper video
As Silky said. Stupid cunts wearing ghillie suits in a house AND the wrong colour! Even the rifle wrap was pointless. Gotta say though, this video has some sweet cinematic shots, tracer rounds, bullet curvature, slow motion, sniper spotter. Juuust mute the music. They have some serious camera kit as well. No more SD camcorders or potato phones. We got high end Canon and super zoom Nikon cameras!! |

Well, the important thing is that you're not sensitive or bitter. So you've got that going for you...

Re: Islamic state 19 Minute sniper video
One thing I’ve never understoood about weapon optics/scopes is how the cross hair works. The scope is on top of the weapon, so it is above the barrel right? So, if you line up the cross hairs with a target, surely the barrel below the scope means that when you shoot you won’t actually be hitting the target, you’ll be hitting below? It doesn’t make sense to me, I would’ve thought the distance between the barrel and the scope is at play here. Same thing I wonder about my Newtonian reflector telescope. The viewfinder is positioned above the tube’s mirror. So how is it when I line up an object in there it also appears in my eyepiece?

Re: Islamic state 19 Minute sniper video
Interesting video. I also had to lower the volume as that religious diatribe was getting frustrating. At most a handful killed in action (if that), with maybe one or two confirmed head shots in the fray. What I took from this video more than anything is that it really illustrates the ineptitude of Arab trained armies. Lots of unnecessary exposure and concentration of men on their behalf. Soldiers gawking out of windows and standing on rooftops leaves little to the imagination. As for the rest of those shot placements, it's really hard to tell. Other sceptics who've commented earlier are probably right on the mark with their own observations. Some of the footage is carefully edited however, only showing us frames of cinder blocks being blown into dust with no real aftermath of any combat casualties - so who knows. But what I found most peculiar was the use of archaic Mosin 91/30 style optics on the end massive, modern anti-material rifles. For a round that pushes the envelope out beyond a few kilometres I certainly expected more magnification. Definitely a step up from the naked iron sights of the PTRD-41 rifles employed by the Red Army in WWII, but not by much.
