Re: Iraq Street Beheading - Two Perspectives
I always think about how nice it is that the middle east is so far away. And I always remember the importance of keeping it from getting anywhere near us. It's like a virus. You might not be able to kill it. But you must keep it under control and very far from you and your loved ones.

Re: Iraq Street Beheading - Two Perspectives
I know this isn't the greatest source, but a quick check on wiki and another medical site are in agreement "When the heartbeat stops, a person is suffering clinical death - by definition. But consciousness is not lost until 15–20 seconds later. Up to this point, a person doesn't feel anything about the critical situation. Most tissues and organs of the body can survive clinical death for considerable periods. Blood circulation can be stopped in the entire body below the heart for at least 30 minutes, with injury to the spinal cord being a limiting factor.[4] Detached limbs may be successfully reattached after 6 hours of no blood circulation at warm temperatures. Bone, tendon, and skin can survive as long as 8 to 12 hours.[5] The brain, however, appears to accumulate ischemic injury faster than any other organ. Without special treatment after circulation is restarted, full recovery of the brain after more than 3 minutes of clinical death at normal body temperature is rare" If it takes 3 minutes with no blood flow to cause permanent brain injury, how long are these people still conscious and aware of what is happening during the beheading? Chilling to think about. |

Holy crap!! Call Guinness, I thinks that's a new world record! It's obviously not THAT guys first rodeo. I looked down half a second to light my smoke figuring he'd be hacking away for a little bit... look up and the peasants rejoiced. Too bad both versions were recorded with a potato. |
